The INVALID seal

Sites no longer falling within the HONcode perimeter, which we have chosen not to continue to certify, now display the INVALID seal.

Indeed, for various reasons (e.g. a site that has evolved too much since its last certification, a site that no longer meets the HONcode criteria) this site is no longer HONcode certified, and we felt it was essential that this be clearly displayed on the site, for more transparency.

After the decision is approved by the medical committee of the HON Foundation, the webmaster of the concerned site is notified by email one week before its seal is modified. He can then either apply the modifications requested by the HON team to make his site certifiable again, or remove the HONcode seal from his site.  After one week and without any response, the HONcode seal and certificate are modified to INVALID.
