Independent study on the impact of certification on the content of websites of 10 common orthopaedic sports medicine diagnosis
On July 19, 2010, the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery published a study conducted by the independent research team of Starman et al. at the Carolinas Medical Center and OrthoCarolina Sports Medicine Center in North Carolina. They used the HONcode to assess the quality and contents of 154 orthopaedic sports medicine websites. Different types of websites were selected: academic, commercial, health professional or personal.

Health Information System Working Conference

MedInfo 2010 Conference
HON is participating in this event. Cape Town, South Africa will host the 13th International Congress on Medical Informatics from the 13 - 16 of September 2010. This will be the first time MEDINFO is held in Africa. It promises to boost exposure to grassroots healthcare delivery and the underpinning health information systems. This will open the door to new academic partnerships in the future and help nurture a new breed of health informaticians.
HON will present the research activities of the Foundation and organise a panel on "The HONcode certification: 13 years of services for improving the quality of the health online information "
