High-Level EHealth conference in Cork, 5-6 may 2004
Hosted by the Irish presidency of the European Union, this conference, bringing
together ministers, commissioners, representatives of European health ministries,
decision makers, policy makers and key players, provided an opportunity to overview
eHealth developments that have taken place since the Ministerial Declaration adopted
during the first e-Health Conference in Brussels in May 2003.
Through a number of plenary and parallel sessions, the debates illustrated how
Europe’s citizens currently benefit from e-Health tools and services and how they
will benefit in the years ahead. There was a focus on access (such as health portals)
and empowerment (such as health cards and telemedicine). The conference also examines
the following areas: integrated care records, evidenced based decisions, and clinical
excellence.
During the conference (Cork, Ireland, 5-6 may 2004), as a finalist HON was invited
to present HON’s activities in a showcase event during two days.

HON has been selected as the winner of this prestigious award by European judges
during the live showcase.

New feature: HON confidence space : access to nearly 100’000 trusted web pages
This new feature gives you access to not only the 66’000 HONcode accredited information
pages but also to the pages selected by HONcode specials directories such as
MedlinePlus and CisMef . So with MedHunt, HON’s full text search to the
entire medical and Health Web sites- more than 150’000 medical/health Web pages,
you can select more than 80’000 pages referenced by HONcode special directories.

We also are glad to tell you that our work meets more and more people's
preoccuptation, our website has been visited by 289'500 unique visitors who
have seen 2'123'874 pages on our server in December 2003 and 310'000 in March
2004, and more websites are applying for the HONcode accreditation.
