<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="http://asp.readspeaker.net/cgi-bin/honrsone?customerid=1003380&lang=en&id=1&type=2&url=http://www.hon.ch/RSS/AUDIO/Conf/THEME/G04.185.753.891.mp3" class=menu target="rs"><IMG SRC="http://www.hon.ch/TTS/img/audio_en.jpg" BORDER=0 ALIGN=MIDDLE ALT="Cliquez pour &eacute;couter ce texte" WIDTH=52 HEIGHT=16></A> ]]>Symposium Objectives&#x3C;br&#x3E;Upon completion of this conference, participantsshould be better able to:&#x3C;li&#x3E;Apply current research on the identification ofmolecular biomarkers of wound healing that canbe analyzed in wound fluids.&#x3C;li&#x3E;Utilize biomarkers in clinical management ofnonhealing wounds to direct therapy.&#x3C;li&#x3E;Implement strategies to identify conditions thatresult in cutaneous manifestations that canmasquerade as chronic wounds of other etiologiesand evade appropriate management.&#x3C;li&#x3E;Diagnose and appropriately treat atypical chroniculcers&#x3C;li&#x3E;Recognize the medically relevant fungi thatproduce disease in humans and address theirinteraction with wounds.&#x3C;li&#x3E;Examine the newer antifungal agents available totreat fungal infections and explain the indicationsfor use.&#x3C;li&#x3E;Formulate comprehensive care treatment plansfor chronic wound patients, including physicaltherapy.&#x3C;li&#x3E;Implement strategies for integrating physicaltherapy modalities into the wound care paradigm.&#x3C;li&#x3E;Name and explain the five stages of psychologicalchange in wound care patient behavior.&#x3C;li&#x3E;Implement key strategies for identifying andassisting patients who exhibit psychological orbehavioral symptoms of being overwhelmedwith their chronic wounds.&#x3C;li&#x3E;Adopt new products and technologies into everydayclinical practice by applying evidence-basedclinical case scenarios.</description>
