Health Tip: Watch for Signs of Elder Abuse
Including taking drugs or drinking

(HealthDay News) -- Caring for an elderly person can be a stressful challenge, and sometimes that can lead to abuse.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says potential signs of elder abuse among caregivers include:
- Drinking too much alcohol or abusing drugs.
- Showing high levels of stress.
- Lacking social support.
- Becoming dependent on the elder, either financially or emotionally.
- Showing signs of depression.
