HON is conducting a survey exploring how satisfied web masters are one month after placing the HONcode certificate on their web sites. The survey began on 23 July 2008, and as of 14 June 2010, 2,209 web masters of web sites have been invited to participate. 822 have responded. Web masters of sites using the English, French, and Spanish (from March 2010) languages were invited in the study. The survey includes 12 questions focusing on web masters' experiences with the certification process, which were separated in three categories: application for certification, the certification process itself, and experience one month following certification. Questions included “is the (HONcode certificate) application form clear?” “what, in your opinion, does the HONcode bring about?” and “would you recommend other web sites to be certified by the HONcode?” Results show a general overall satisfaction with the certification process. Although the results from the French cohort demonstrate that the HONcode appears to have an increased popularity among French websites, the French web sites also demonstrate a comparable trend with the general survey outcomes. A similar questionnaire asking their experiences one year after the certification process reveals that web masters have fairly the same level of satisfaction.
