Naturally occurring, large, granular, lymphocyte -like killer cells that kill various tumour cells and virus-infected cells through phagocytosis and by producing substances that can kill such cells, indeed they may play a role in resistance to tumours. They do not exhibit antigenic specificity and their number does not increase with immunization. They also participate in ADCC .
