HONcode Status

  • Automatically checks the certification of the website being viewed. The HONcode seal appears in color if the website is in compliance with the HONcode.

HONcode Search

  • HONcode Search: There are two ways to search the HON database of certified websites.

    • Enter a word or phrase into a familiar 'search box' or
    • Select text using the mouse, and right-click to begin the search.


The HONcode toolbar is easy to download and add to your favorite web browser.
It connects in realtime to the HON server to verify the certification status of health/medical websites, does not collect any personal information from you, and contains no 'spyware' or hidden functions.

The HON toolbar is a free service supported by the Canton of Geneva, Swiss
Government and European Union.

The plugins were developed jointly with software developers NetUnion (www.netunion.com), of Lausanne, Switzerland as part of the European research project ActiveHealth.
