Confidentiality & Privacy Policy
To access the Telemedicine discussion forum some personal information is collected when users register and this information is stored in a secure database.
The e-mail address will be used to send confirmation of your username and password, and it will be used to send you emails containing details of our Telemedicine website News updates. Details of how to unsubscribe from this service are present in every email.
You can opt in to your contact data being included in the secure website address book, but not being used to receive e-mails or news updates clicking “Allow Forum Members to Send you E-Mail? = No” at registration.
All of this data is only accessible by website and database managers and will never be used for any other purpose other than that for which it was submitted or sold on to third parties.
Users can securely log in to their personal account page to view what data is held on them, and then have the facility to edit or delete their own record.
Continuous logs are maintained of the Telemedicine website web server activity. These log files include the details of your IP address, browser type, page last visited etc. Log files are used to analyze usage of the Telemedicine website, and may be kept in an anonymized form for historical records.
Currently we are using Google Analytics to analyze the audience of the website and improve our content. No personal information is collected from Google Analytics. For further information on the privacy policy concerning Google Analytics, please go here.
Some parts of the Telemedicine website may use cookies for security purposes (e.g. to save the user from having to re-enter their details for every page in a section of the site). Cookies are not used to capture or store personal information for any other purpose, and all cookies are deleted as soon as a session is ended. Cookies must be turned on in your browser to participate as a user in these forums. Cookies are used here to hold your username and password and viewing options, allowing you to login.
If you email us to ask a question, report a fault etc, we will only use the personal data you provide to reply to your message. We do not keep this information, or share it with any third party unless you have consented to this or this is so permitted by law.
