For the collaborative platform: We are an open list where folks can ask and respond to situations to learn more. (...) Usually good judgment of the individual controls this, sometimes that individual might lose that good judgment temporarily and post carelessly to the list. At that time, management will exercise whatever measure necessary to regain control and to maintain the dignity of the list. http://www.emphysema.net/ours.html
a. Extend politeness to other members and to any contacts. b. Exhibit tolerance for opinions and feelings different from yours. If offended by innocent remarks, please direct it to the individual, not to the list. c. Refuse to get into aggressive arguments or verbal conflicts with other members or contacts. d. Language which is foul or obscene, abusive, or otherwise offensive to the group, will not be tolerated.

2. Presentation of the site Mission:
|
As well as providing a very vital support, through a joint email discussion list and educational resource for its members, we are also working to educate and inform patients and care providers as well as promote deeper research for more effective treatment and hopefully a cure for Emphysema and other Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Be an activist in managing your own disease and join our EFFORTS to help promote vital medical research and education. If we don't do this, who will?

For the collaborative platform:
If you find an interesting COPD-related article on the Internet and want to share it, do not post the entire article unless it is very short. Rather, just briefly describe it and include the web address where it can be read by others. If the article is copyrighted or you think it might be subject to copyright, please do not send the whole article. Instead, briefly describe it and provide a link.
