Prematurity Problems

A premature baby is one who is born before 37 weeks of pregnancy. See also preterm labour .

A number of problems are associated with prematurity. These include:

• Jaundice & Hyperbilirubinemia
• Apnea of Prematurity
• Anaemia
• Blood Sugar/Blood mineral Level Problems
• Respiratory Distress Syndrome
• Transient Tachypnea of the Newborn
• Patent Ductus Arteriosus
• Retinopathy of Prematurity
• Pneumothorax, Pneumomediastinum and Pulmonary Interstitial ( Airleak )
• Necrotizing Enterocolitis
• Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia
